A snapshow of VLA’s Annual Party

VLA is a youth-led learning community that brings young people together to think, explore, and express themselves through real-world issues and open dialogue. In just six months, VLA has grown into a supportive and vibrant community where learning is shaped by curiosity, courage, and connection.

The recently concluded VLA Annual Meeting captured this stage of our journey. The evening featured a wide range of performances: David kicked things off with an energetic drum set performance; piano solos and ensemble pieces created moments of focus and reflection; dance performances by Lisa and Yuki, along with Audrey’s K-pop routine, brought energy and excitement to the room. Music moved across styles, and familiar songs like Last Christmas and Yesterday Once More became shared moments of memory and emotion.

Interaction played a big role throughout the night. Celine’s stand-up comedy brought laughter, while games and the auction encouraged students, parents, and teachers to connect in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. When everyone came together on stage for a group performance, the stage became more than a place to perform—it became a space for community.

What stood out was not just the performances themselves, but what they represented: repeated effort, growing confidence, and genuine engagement. As the applause faded and the annual meeting came to a close, the sense of connection stayed with us. This Christmas, we marked the end of a meaningful year with a warm and heartfelt gathering.
